As per reports, the International tourist arrivals in various countries declined by 72% from the month of January to October in the year 2020. The reason behind this is the slow virus containment facilities, travelers’ low confidence, and other travel restrictions imposed on various state and national government due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.

In the first ten months, it was estimated that almost 900 million lesser International tourists arrived in the year 2020 because of the global health and economic crisis.
Amongst all the global regions, the Asia Pacific region saw a decrease of almost 82% arrivals from the month of January to October in the year 2020. The Middle East saw a decline of 73%, Africa saw a decline of 69% and other Nations like The Americas and Europe saw a decline of 68% in these ten months.

Some of the major players in the global travel and tourism industry include the Walt Disney Company, Delta Airlines Inc, Marriott International Inc, CWT, Expedia Group Inc, and others.
All these major players provide industry products and services like traveler accommodations, air transportation, food and beverage establishment, travel arrangements and reservations, recreation and entertainment, gasoline, transport facilities like car rental and other retail related activities.
Can the world expect a rebound in international tourism in 2021?
As per the recent study by the market researchers and experts, it has been predicted that there might be a rebound in the international tourism for the year 2021. Especially in the third quarter of 2021, the world can expect at least 20% of international tourists.
The main barrier is the travel restrictions that have caused a hindrance in the recovery of the international tourism business. With the passage of time, the travel restrictions will be e minimalized and limited that can help the travel and tourism industry to return back to its original pace.
